What is Executive Coaching?

At different times in our careers, we need someone to challenge us, hold us accountable and push us to become the best we can be. Using a variety of coaching tools and methodologies, I can be that person for you.

As a coach, I believe that you have the answers to your problems and it’s my role to help you find your own unique solutions. A good analogy is that you are the driver of the car and I am the navigator in the passengers’ seat to help you reach your destination.

I have a multitude of executive coaching tools and extensive practical Human Resources experience to draw upon. These are applied to your individual situation and goals, with the aim for you to take charge of your progress and development with me as your trusted advisor alongside you.

Strengths Coaching

Strengths Coaching turns the traditional training and development model on its head, by recognising your talents and helping you to consciously apply them to improve your performance. Weaknesses are managed only if they are negatively impacting on yours or others performance.

 

Don Clifton, the psychologist who developed the Clifton Strengths Finder model, wanted to know “what would it be like if we focused on what was right with people, rather than what was wrong with them”.

 

Strengths development focuses on what you are already good at, challenging you to become even better and then finding other ways (people or processes) to support the areas where you are not so strong. This is the basis for building productive teams, with each member doing what they do best and supporting others around them to achieve common goals.

Gallup recently conducted a survey to measure the impact that individuals experience from receiving Clifton Strengths coaching. Compared with individuals who said they did not receive coaching on their strengths, those who did receive coaching experienced significant improvements in the following areas:

  • Life satisfaction improved by 3.9%.

  • Expected life satisfaction (in five years) improved by 2.9%.

  • Career wellbeing improved by 4.4%.

  • Strengths self-efficacy improved by 4.7%.
